You Are Not Alone™

Peer support for young adults aged 18–28 who have experienced sexual violence in childhood.

What is the You Are Not Alone™ peer support group?

You Are Not Alone™ group is an online peer support group aimed at young adults between the ages 1828 who have experienced sexual violence in childhood. This peer support group is a confidential space where survivors can meet to share their experiences to support healing and strengthen inner resources. In the group, survivors can connect with peers who have faced similar challenges in a safe, supportive environment.

The primary aim of the group is to provide support and hope for the healing journey. Topics discussed in the group include:

  • impacts of sexual violence

  • developing and enhancing coping skills and inner resources

  • building security and trust, relationships

  • sharing your personal story

  • healing and hope

Group themes are shaped together with participants, and everyone has the opportunity to influence the content of the group sessions. All participants are welcome just as they are; group members come from diverse backgrounds and life situations. The group follows the principles for a safer space.

The group also provides an opportunity to promote victims' and survivors' rights and to support preventive work – with the inner resources you currently have. Every survivor has the right to be heard and seen.

The first You Are Not Alone™ group will be launched in the autumn of 2025. You can now apply for the group! This group is only available in Finnish.

Approximately ten participants are selected for the group based on initial discussions, where you meet the group facilitators and together discuss whether peer support is the right support for you. The group meets for a total of 10 sessions. Participation is completely free of charge.

Tutustu lasten etätyöpajoissa tuottamiin teoksiin

Osallistuimme luokkani kanssa Stop, Slow & Go -työpajaan™. Tokaluokkalaiset kokivat aiheen mielenkiintoiseksi ja niinhän se onkin. Työpaja oli juuri sopivan mittainen ja se herätti paljon keskustelua, jota pääsimme jatkamaan myös työpajan jälkeen.
