PROJECT LAUNCH
Protect Children’s new More Than a Device pilot project aims to engage parents and caregivers in digital safety education and empower them to pass these skills to children.
Protect Children’s newest pilot project – More Than a Device – seeks to address this issue!
The project will identify the most effective ways to reach parents and caregivers with digital safety skills education and pilot their preferred methods of training in five countries: the UK, France, Spain, Italy, and Finland.
More Than a Device will enable and empower parents and caregivers to discuss digital safety with their children via an innovative, interactive, and easy to use online training platform that will contain podcasts, short video series, and interactive exercises - parents can choose their preferred training method!
Parents will have opportunities to provide feedback, contributing to the development of effective and tailored educational resources and training methods. This invaluable information will lay the foundation for the comprehensive evaluation report on the project’s findings.
The project will culminate in further understanding of how best to reach and engage parents in challenging discussions related to children’s digital safety skills and produce a scalable model to bring the innovative educational platform to parents and caregivers worldwide.
The pilot is implemented with support from Havas, one of the world's largest global communications groups.
More Than a Device is funded by Google.org.
