Protect Children hosted a unique ‘Protect Children & Content Creators for Children’s Online Safety’ event in Finland that brought popular content creators, the world’s leading social media companies, and service providers together to talk about online child safety and responsible blogging for the whole family.
The event was opened by kicked-off with insights about online child safety from Protect Children's experts Nina Vaaranen-Valkonen, Anna Ovaska, Katariina Leivo, and Noora Bui. Our digital safety skills materials for professionals, families, and children are available in our resource bank:
We then facilitated a dynamic panel discussion and a Q&A session with fantastic panelists Stephanie Quintao from TikTok, Christian Mogensen from Snap Inc., Joe Bergan from YouTube, and Jussi Mälkiä from DNA. The discussion delved into such important topics as effective use of online parental controls, age limits, and up-to-date digital safety tips.
The event concluded with an engaging and fun digital safety skills workshop for families, and a networking reception.
