Internship Program

Are you passionate about protecting children’s rights? Join Protect Children in Helsinki, Finland, as an intern and gain valuable experience in preventing child sexual abuse and exploitation.

About our Internship Program

Protect Children offers internships for students and early career professionals who are dedicated to advancing child rights and preventing sexual violence against children. Interns become part of an international team and gain practical experience in research, advocacy, communications, and NGO project implementation. 

During the program, you will contribute to ongoing initiatives while developing your own professional skills and knowledge. Each intern carries out an individual internship project that reflects their personal interests or field of study.

Who Can Apply

We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who share our mission to protect children and prevent sexual violence. Applicants should meet the following criteria:

✔️ Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s student, or recent graduate, in a relevant field such as law, psychology, social sciences, or related disciplines.

✔️ Motivation

Strong commitment to child protection and a genuine interest in contributing to the field.

✔️ Language

Working proficiency in English. Other languages are considered an asset but are not required.

✔️ Communication

Good written and verbal communication skills suitable for a professional environment. 

✔️ Teamwork

Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a fast-paced team environment.

✔️ Experience

Previous work experience in related fields is an advantage but not required.

Duration

Internships typically last 3 months and are full-time. Positions are offered twice a year, in spring and autumn.

Location

Protect Children follows a hybrid working model. Interns are expected to work from our Helsinki office several days a week, with some flexibility for remote work.

Compensation

All internships at Protect Children are compensated in line with Finnish internship pay standards.
