Help us to do good - join the #GivingTuesday movement on 28.11.2023!

#GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity. Join the movement and give – whether it’s some of your time, a donation, or the power of your voice in your local community.

Does Finland celebrate #GivingTuesday?

Yes! In Finland, we call it #TekojenTiistai. Movement came to Finland in 2019 and became very popular! In 2021, 70% of Finns joined the movement through volunteering, donating, performing socially meaningful tasks and many other ways.

How can you join #GivingTuesday?

Everyone has something to give because all acts of kindness matter. Here are some of the ways to join based on #TekojenTiistai website:

  • Ask your close ones if they need any help or support – perhaps they need a good company or some assistance in finishing a long overdue difficult task.

  • Check if you have any unwanted belongings or clothes and see where you can donate them.

  • Think of behaving environmentally responsible – you could start recycling or take part in cleaning natural sites.

  • Look up volunteer opportunities. There is always assistance needed somewhere!

  • Donate to help those in need or support a project you consider important.

  • ….or help us, Protect Children!

Protect Children joins #GivingTuesday as well and kindly welcomes volunteers and donations. We are doing our utmost to ensure that no child is subject to any form of sexual violence. Throughout years of work we:

  • Intervened with 27,000 offenders of online child sexual abuse.

  • Organized digital safety skills workshops for over 9,000 children.

  • Trained over 12,000 professionals who work with children.

  • Arranged peer-support groups for families whose child has become a victim of sexual violence.

  • Contributed to over 1,200,000 images of child sexual abuse being removed from the internet.

  • Conducted innovative research on anonymous offenders in the Dark Web.

  • Advocated for legislation change in Finland and on the EU level to better address rights of the child.

Protect Children team wishes Happy GivingTuesday! Remember that you can share your kindness every day.
