Victims and survivors of CSAM are often forgotten, while images and videos of their sexual abuse continue to be used and reshared. Many have no way of knowing whether their CSAM is still in circulation, being removed from platforms, or if the offenders who possess it are being prosecuted and convicted. As a result, victims and survivors have no support to secure criminal compensation and civil remedy or any help to deal with their long-lasting trauma.
Project ECHO addresses these pressing gaps and ensures that no victim and survivor is forgotten by

Matching the hash* of CSAM to victims and survivors whose CSAM has been shared

Connecting victims and survivors with the Internet Watch Foundation for removal of their CSAM

Ensuring that law enforcement around the world is targeting offenders in possession of their CSAM

Supporting with writing victim impact statements and ensuring that their voice is heard

Providing peer-to-peer psychoeducational resources to facilitate healing and recovery
The project comprises a powerful consortium of the International Policing and Public Protection Research Institute, the Internet Watch Foundation, Child Rescue Coalition, and Protect Children.
